Monday, 19 January '09: Just a little blue-ish
Weekend's over. Monday's here. And I am feeling just a little blue-ish about my 'To do' list. What blue item will cheer me this morning? Granny's willow pattern plate, a photo of my blue-eyed daughters, the blue sky above? No, I think I'll spread the quilt top I made in the hols on the lawn and that will suffice.
Quilting fabrics here are mainly US imports and prices are ever rising. Today the exchange rate is ten ZAR to one US dollar. Ouch! This quilt is made from our own 100%cotton Da Gama fabrics produced in the Eastern Cape and they are half the price of the imports. The range is limited but I thought the blues are pretty.
PS Blue Monday is , of course, the brainchild of Smiling Sal. Do visit her and her contributors for other shades of blue!

I love your blue and white quilt. There's nothing quite like the feel of 100% cotton, no matter what part of the world it comes from. Since I am a quilter and a collector of blue and white porcelain, I am greatful that you pointed out Smiling Sal's Blue Monday posts. I hope to take part in them soon.
O Eleanor! this quilt is beautiful!
Happy Monday!
Dear Eleanor
Happy Blue Monday
Your quilt is just the prettiest shade of blue & cotton is my favorite for sure.
Love Claudie
What a beautiful quilt, Eleanor! I love the shades of blue. It must have taken you a long time to make.
Wishing you success on completing all the priorities on your To Do list!
Beautiful quilt!
Happy Blue Monday!
Eleanor, that is a beautiful quilt! You are so talented to have made that! I'm a bit of a quilt nut, but the only thing I've ever attempted quilting is a Christmas stocking for my mother in law. It is rather primitive, but she loves it.
Happy Blue Monday!
XO,
Sheila :-)
I love the different shades of blue you used. I can see this on a white bed.
Happy Blue Monday! I love your quilt. Are you in Africa, and that's the cottage you live in. How cool is that? It amazes me every day how we can connect with people from all over the world via the internet. Will be back to visit again.

The blues are beautiful on your quilt.
My modum is sick and my local internet company is fixing it. Mr. Linky is up now; please come link in. Happy Blue Monday.
This quilt on the lawn, Eleanor looks like you are ready to spread a picnic. I'll be right over...I'll bring the potato salad. Happy Blue Monday. Karen
Your quilt is beautiful. Two of our daughters are at this minute laying out quilt pieces on my dining room table. Happy Blue Monday!

Beautiful blue quilt. This reminds me I should get back to completing a cross-stitch needlework design I started over two years ago, and those needlework kits I had to buy when I worked in England (which are languishing in a suitcase).
